AI love you! Romantic AI relationships

Postdoc Zahra Rizvi at UiB has spent months reading and analyzing “r/MyBoyfriendIsAI”, a Reddit forum of about 42,000 people.

Rizvi will present her findings so far, before joining librarian Inger Marie Vik and PhD candidate Odin Monrad Schei in a conversation about her research and human and AI relationships. Together they touch on questions like what these relationships actually look like, why people choose to form these bonds, and what they might mean for society at large.

Anyone interested in or curious to how technologies might affect and change our lives are welcome.

Zahra Rizvi works at the Department of Linguistics, Literary and Aesthetic Studies at UiB and is a member of the Center for Digital Narrative.
