New Artemis programme in entrepreneurship for students and staff
In autumn 2026, the Artemis university alliance will launch a new programme. The aim is to help students and researchers develop ideas and research into businesses with international potential.
The programme is aimed at those who want to explore entrepreneurship or investigate whether an idea or a research project can become a viable business. The programme is international and interdisciplinary, bringing together students, researchers and early-stage businesses from partner institutions across Europe.
– We have many students and researchers with good ideas in key areas of society. With this programme, we want to give them support and confidence to explore the opportunities further, says Maren Stallemo, project manager for Artemis at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences.
Insight into international markets
Participants receive practical training in starting and developing businesses. They receive guidance in creating solutions that take into account society, the environment and long-term value creation.
The programme provides access to relevant networks in close collaboration with other teams in the Artemis alliance. Participants work on their own ideas throughout the programme and receive guidance from international mentors, while learning alongside participants from various innovation environments across Europe.
Exploring the entrepreneurial role
It is possible to participate both as part of a team and as an individual. However, participants will need to be part of a team relatively early in the process.
The programme is suited to students who are curious about the entrepreneurial role and to researchers who wish to put their research to practical use.
– Staff play an important role in reaching out to students and early-career researchers. I hope many will pass on the word if they know someone who could benefit from this opportunity, says Stallemo.
Courses, digital follow-up and gatherings
The programme is free of charge. It starts in October 2026 and runs until May 2027.
The programme consists of several phases:
- an online course in entrepreneurship from October to December 2026. For students, this part carries academic credits
- online follow-up from January to March 2027
- international digital networking gatherings in spring 2027
- an international Startup Week in Regensburg, Germany in May 2027, in hybrid format, where participants will have the opportunity to present their business to investors. This part also carries academic credits for students
