Stakeholder visits

We will arrange for a stakeholder visit that might interest both external stakeholders and academics. Focus is on sustainable mobility and how the city of Bergen works with achieving climate friendly modes of transportation. The programme for the visit will be split in two.

Sustainable transportation at sea

The Port of Bergen is one of Norway’s most important maritime hubs. One of their most important missions is to ensure that it is sustainably operated and a major ambition is to be among Europe’s most innovative and environmentally responsible ports.

The port has therefore developed an Environmental Port Index (EPI) a system for calculating environmentally differentiated port fees based on ships' emissions while in port. The system rewards the ships with the lowest emissions and thus the lowest environmental impact.

Sustainable transportation on land

Bergen is among the top three cities in the world with the most electric cars per inhabitant. About 50% of the car park in Bergen is electric. We will hear more from Bergen municipality about how the city got to be in this position, the impact the electric car park has, and challenges the city has faced and is still facing with this transformation.

Evening Programme

17:00 – Mayoral reception at Schøtstuene
Schøtstuene is part of Bryggen. A UNESCO world heritage site dating back to year 1070. The reception is hosted by the City of Bergen.

19:00 – Conference Dinner at Fløien
Fløyen is among Bergen's most popular tourist attractions. It is both an area and a viewpoint about 320 meters above sea level. There is a funicular from the city centre to Fløyen that will take us both up and down. Join us for a festive evening with panoramic views of Bergen.
