
About us
Western Norway University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest higher education institutions in the country, with around 16,500 students and 1,900 employees. Our five campuses are located in Bergen, Førde, Haugesund, Sogndal, and Stord.
We have a profession- and workforce-oriented profile and offer, among other things, education for key professions such as nurses, teachers, and engineers. Each year, we graduate 3,000 candidates who help address key societal challenges.
Our research is conducted in close collaboration with industry and the public sector. HVL has strong and innovative academic environments in health and social sciences, engineering and maritime studies, teacher education, culture and sports, natural and social sciences, as well as economics and management.
